Jonah Nelson has been a devoted horticulturist from a young age, inspired by his grandfather and father, both dedicated owners and operators of Family Tree Nursery. Immersed in the nursery's thriving 10-acre bedding plant and perennial production farm during his formative years, Jonah nurtured a profound passion for plants.

He honed his expertise at Kansas State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Horticulture with an emphasis on Landscape Design. Over the past 16 years, Jonah has managed multiple departments, stores, and purchasing within Family Tree Nursery, gaining invaluable experience and embracing challenges that have fueled his enthusiasm for the industry. As of 2024, Jonah serves as the CEO, leading teams both at the farms and in the retail stores.

Jonah is fervently committed to growing exceptional plants and fostering the growth of talented individuals. He resides in the Kansas City area with his wife and their three children.
